After 3 years in China, i am back home to France. It was amazing to work in such a dynamic city as Shanghai. I had the chance to meet very talented people whom are my friends now.
I already miss Shanghai but it's time to move on! So stay tuned because summer is often quite quiet but who knows what is coming next.
See you space cowboy
As graphic designer, the way we worked for print support is totally different from the web. You can play with different materials, inks & paper. This field may not evolve as quick as the web but the feeling to get samples, touching your work & having it in your hands is something very enjoyable that make print a noble industry.
Technology is always innovating, so is the internet. As designer i have to being update about the latest trends & what you could technically do with html5 & css3…
… I have basic knowledges in development. However i am always looking for inspirations that will give my design neat effects. Then the developper will have the source to code the website i had first designed. To focus on the user experience is very important & so is the device that people use to visit a website.
Photography is a passion i discovered when i was at school. It could be in your pocket with your phone or in the streets with a small compact, in your trips using a powerful camera and even in your studio with a professional DSLR. With the evolution of the digital world & habits, now everyone can do photography. You can shot & re-shot without hesitating. Photography for me is a passion i like to use on my project.
Being a kid of the late 80s' made me who i am now: a young man who has to be up to date to anything.
I first discover internet with the old 56k modem with this sound that only "old" people know. I played with Paint, used kazaa & eMule to get craked software as Photoshop & i started to do my own little stuff with the help of some people on design board online. Doing some wallpapers and banners was fun to begin with but i wanted more.
My dad told me first to graduate before i can study what i would like so i did while the internet was becoming 2.0. I went to school to learn graphic design with a major in multimedia. This is how i learn the process of creating something from sketches & ideas… not to rush directly on your computer, to work as a team, to communicate and share with people.
Then some freelance work and internship came. Those first experiences learn me the professional world. Price, cost, deadline, multi-tasking…
… After school it was time for new things so Shanghai was the best option for me & my girlfriend. It was my first job, my first apartment, my first bills to pay… Actually a lot of first things happened while we first moved to Shanghai. This city is full of exciting people & projects so it's good to be surrounded by people that will push you forward.
